The Heartbeat for Jesus 40-Day Training Plan is more than just a workout—it’s a faith-filled-heart-pumping journey that builds endurance, both physically and spiritually.We focus on strengthening your heart for Jesus. Designed for all fitness levels, this program pairs heart rate-based training with scripture, helping you grow stronger in your faith while preparing for a 5K celebration.

80/20 heart rate training

Heartbeat for Jesus use 80/20 coaching. We focus on heart rate training with 80% the pace of grace and "easy" miles, and 20% of your workouts grit with "hard" miles.

Why 40 days?

40 days of rain for Noah. Moses spent 40 days on the mountain. Israel wandered for 40 years in the wilderness. Even Jesus spent 40 days fasting before stepping into His purpose. 40 isn’t random—it’s God’s number for transformation. A period of testing, refining, and breakthrough.

What to expect:

Three Structured workouts per week.

80/20 coaching with

80% easy + 20% hard workouts

3 TRAINING PLANS

Genesis Plan (walk + jog)

✅ Less than 1 mile: beginner plan If you are new to running or coming back to running after time off.

✅ Anyone returning to running after a break and looking for a fresh start.

✅ Walkers who want to transition into running with a simple, gradual approach.

Exodus Plan (run)

✅ Runners who can comfortably run 2-3 miles without stopping

✅ Build endurance, improve stamina, and develop a stronger race pace for their 5K.

✅ This plan helps transition from casual running to structured training, using heart rate.

Joshua Plan (PR)

✅ Runners who can comfortably run 4+ miles and want to sharpen speed and endurance.

✅ Anyone aiming for a personal best (PR) in a 5K.

✅ Race Pace workouts.

We are also hosting optional Monday Meet-ups to train at either 8am in Baldwin Park or 6pm at Cranes Roost for a group run with prayer, training and fellowship.
